This family run business has operated in Brunton Park for over five years and has strong links with numerous local suppliers of food and drink.

The owners have an excellent knowledge of a vast array of locally and internationally produced meats, coffees, beers and real ales, to mention just a few of their specialities.


Offering over 150 real ales plus many imported lagers and ciders, as well as spices and oriental food stuffs, Coppers is rapidly becoming a much visited and respected business for everyday items and much more.

Choose from local brewers such as Wylam, Mordue, Jarrow, Hadrian & Borders to name but a few. There are many more readily available in store.

Fine wines are also available and soon there will be a number of 'new' choices which are presently being tested and reviewed by the owners.  

"The locals are already choosing their favourites," states Andrew, a partner in Coppers, "and we hope to have many more for them to try."

A lovely shop which is almost unrecognisable from the open all hours (spar style) shop it used to be. Still selling all the essentials it now stocks a fabulous range of wines and beers. I tried a Montana New Zealand White, it was a lovely fruity wine which was perfect with chicken or on its own for a girlie night in!
